These are the questions that separate a quote you can compare from one you can't. Ask all five of whoever you call, including the ones on this page and including me.
How are you prepping the surface? On Florida stucco the prep is most of the job. Ask what they do about chalking and what gets pressure washed first.
How many coats, and which paint? A quote for two coats of one brand and a quote for one coat of another are not the same quote, and they rarely say so on the paper.
Who is actually doing the work? Ask whether it's the owner, an employee or a sub, and ask who to call if something goes wrong afterward.
Do you carry liability insurance, and can I see it? A painter who carries it will not mind the question.
Is the estimate in writing, with what's included and what isn't? Get the exclusions in writing too. That's where the arguments come from.
Each owner asked to be listed and filled in a form about their own business. Their business has to be registered with its county or the state, and a person reads every listing before it goes up. Nobody pays to be here and there is no fee of any kind.
No. They are not ranked, rated or scored, and there are no stars anywhere on this site. This page is in alphabetical order, which is why it is in the order it is in. Call whichever ones cover your town.
Yes. Venice FL Handyman is mine. I built this directory and my own business is listed on it under the same rules as everybody else, with no fee either way and no better position. Alphabetical order puts it last, which is where it happens to land.
No. No license number is looked up here and no credential is verified. What is required is that the business is registered with its county or the state. Checking a license is your job as the customer, and Florida licenses can be checked free at myfloridalicense.com.
No. There is no commission, no lead fee and no arrangement of any kind. You call them directly on the number shown.
These five cover most of Sarasota and Charlotte County, but not everywhere. The full directory has more businesses across Southwest Florida.
A listing here is not an endorsement, and it is not a guarantee of anyone's credentials, insurance or work. Business details come from the owner. Always confirm a contractor's license and insurance before you hire. Florida licenses can be checked free at myfloridalicense.com.
