About The Root & Bloom Co.
The Root & Bloom Co. is a new grower based in North Port, working across North Port, Venice, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and Englewood. Ashley Masson runs it.
The focus is two things at once. Plants that suit the season they are actually being planted in, and species that are genuinely native to Southwest Florida rather than imports that merely survive here. Her own logo tells you where her head is: a wreath of herbs, peppers, tomatoes and garlic, a coneflower, a sunflower, milkweed and a monarch butterfly.
That milkweed is not decoration. It is the only plant monarch caterpillars will eat, which is the kind of detail that separates somebody who grows plants from somebody who sells them.
