Does Google Know Enough About Your Business to Recommend It?

See your business the way Google and AI see it — a free, plain-English check from a local who's been doing this since 2007.

Right now, someone in Venice is searching for exactly what you do.

The question is whether they find you — or someone else.

Nearly half of every Google search is someone hunting for something local, and about 3 in 4 of those "near me" searchers walk into a business within 24 hours. That's not a someday problem. It's today, for your trade, in your town. That's the whole ballgame. And it doesn't come down to who's biggest or who spends the most. It comes down to something simpler, that almost nobody talks about.

You know what your business looks like.
Do you know what Google thinks it looks like?
Those aren't always the same thing.

You see your business every day. You know your phone number, your services, your hours, your good name around town. But Google and AI don't see any of that automatically. They only see what's actually online about you. And if that picture is incomplete, out of date, or confusing, that's the version of your business the whole internet is working from.

This free check shows you that version — the one Google and AI actually see — so you can spot the gaps before a customer does.

Here's the part most business owners miss.

When AI recommends a business, it has to understand what that business does.

This isn't a someday thing, either. More than 700 million people use ChatGPT every week (OpenAI), and a growing share of them ask it "who's the best [trade] near me?" instead of scrolling Google. Businesses with clear, complete, and consistent information are generally easier for those systems to understand — and more likely to be surfaced — than businesses with incomplete or conflicting information. If your business is a blur, with missing details or conflicting phone numbers or a half-finished listing, you make it easy to get passed over.

Google doesn't recommend the businesses it likes.
It recommends the businesses it understands.

And "understood" is something any small business can be — for free.

In about 30 seconds you'll know

Plain English. No jargon, no lecture. Just "here's what's working and here's what's got a hole in it."

What I actually see out there

I scan real local businesses around Venice, and about 30% of them are missing pieces of that picture without knowing it.

The most common things missing, in order:

  1. The phone number. Roughly 60% of people who find a local business on their phone reach out by tapping the number right there (Google). If yours is missing or wrong, that tap goes to a competitor — and it's the detail most often absent.
  2. The website link. Missing entirely, or pointing to the wrong place.
  3. A photo. No logo, no picture of the business — which quietly makes a listing look abandoned even when it isn't.

None of these are hard to fix. But you can't fix what you can't see — and it matters more than it sounds: a complete Google listing gets around 7 times the clicks of a bare one (Google). Same business, same town. Just a fuller picture.

Especially if you're a service business — this is for you.

Here's a myth that costs Venice service businesses real customers.

A lot of plumbers, handymen, electricians, cleaners — anyone who drives to the customer instead of having a storefront — think Google Business isn't for them. "I don't have a shop for people to visit, so why bother?"

Wrong. Google has a specific setup for service-area businesses. You list the towns you serve instead of a street address, and you can show up just as complete as any restaurant — phone, photos, services, service area, website, all of it.

But because so many service businesses skip it or set it up wrong, they show up bare — a plain link, or nothing — while the restaurants in town look polished. If you drive to your customers in and around Venice, you deserve to show up just as strong as anyone with a storefront on Venice Avenue.

Why me?

Fair question. Here's the honest answer.

I'm a local business owner right here in the Venice area, and I've been at this since 2007. I run my own businesses, I answer my own phone, and I've spent years figuring out how to show up on Google and in AI answers like ChatGPT.

And I did it all without spending a single dollar on ads. No Google Ads, no Facebook Ads, no pay-per-click. Everything I've done is organic — the free, earned kind of visibility that keeps working whether or not you're paying. The only things I pay for are website hosting and AI.

Here's why that matters to you: paid ads are rented. The second you stop paying, you vanish. What I build is owned. It stays. And for a small business owner without deep pockets — mine are shallow too — that difference is everything.

So I'm not an agency that'll hand you a $2,000-a-month bill and put you on ads forever. That's not how I did it, and it's not what I'll sell you.

"Couldn't I just do this myself?"

Honestly? Yes. You could.

I'm not going to insult you and pretend I've got some secret you can't access. I did this with the same AI tools you have. If you had the time to learn it, you could too.

But you've got a business to run. You're good at your trade. I already spent the months of trial and error, the dead ends, the figuring-it-out. Been there, done that.

So the real question isn't "can you do it." It's "do you want to spend your time learning all this, or spend it on the work that actually makes you money?" That's what I'm offering — to bridge that gap, so you stay focused on your business while I handle getting you found. My time and experience are what's for sale here. Not ads. Not a monthly subscription that bleeds you. Just the shortcut past everything I learned the hard way.

Start with the free check. Then decide.

No pressure, no catch, no credit card.

See exactly how your business shows up — on Google and in AI. See what's complete and what's got holes. Then, if you want a hand fixing it, you know where I am. And if you'd rather take the results and do it yourself, that's fine too — you'll be better off just for knowing.

Common questions from Venice business owners

Does my business show up in ChatGPT and AI search?

More and more customers ask AI "who's the best [your trade] near me?" instead of scrolling Google — ChatGPT alone is used by more than 700 million people a week (OpenAI). Whether your business gets mentioned depends on how clearly and consistently you show up across Google and the web. The free check looks at this — it's newer ground most businesses haven't thought about yet, which means it's also an opening to get ahead of your competition.

How do I know if my business is even showing up on Google?

Fastest way is to run the free check above, or search your own business name plus "Venice FL" and see what comes up. A complete listing with your phone, photo, and website means you're in good shape. Bare or missing means there's work to do.

I don't have a storefront. Is Google Business still for me?

Yes. If you drive to your customers, you set up as a service-area business, list the towns you serve, and you can show up just as complete as anyone with a shop. Most service businesses don't realize this.

How long does it take to start showing up better?

Most local businesses see improvement in a few months of consistent work — sometimes faster for easy fixes like adding a missing phone number or photo, longer for competitive searches. Not overnight, but real, and once it's built, it keeps working.

Do I have to pay you?

The check is free, always. If you want help fixing what it finds, we can talk — but there's no obligation, and I'll never put you on expensive ads. I don't use them myself.

Why should I trust you?

Because you found me the same way you want your customers to find you — by searching. I'm a real local business owner who's been in the Venice area since 2007, I answer my own phone, and I got here without paying for a single ad. I'm not an agency. I'm one of you.
